What's New in FineReader 6.0 PRO
Implementation of New Algorithms Results in Better Recognition Accuracy
·
Adaptive Binarization
The
state-of-the-art layout techniques produce complex layouts of pages,
with text printed on a color background or even an image. Such
documents are often low-contrast or have bleak text (such is the case
of newspapers and magazines printed on color or yellowish paper).
It’s impossible to recognize such texts well if one doesn’t remove
the background for each paragraph, line or even word individually.
·
Texture Filtering
The
new version of FineReader is able to detect the image areas printed on
such background and to remove such texture (or background) by finding
dots of a certain size and removing them. This method leaves the
outlines of letters fully intact, so the removal of dots that neighbor
the letters doesn’t affect the recognition quality.
More Accurate Document Layout Retention in MS Word
·
Retention of Non-Rectangular Pictures and Text Flow
Modern
design makes wide use of objects of complex form: non-rectangular
pictures, pictures in text, multicolumn text flow around a picture,
etc. The new version of FineReader supports recognition of such
objects and their export to MS Word. Even the most complex layouts
will now be fully retained in this text editor.
New Level of Accuracy in Retaining Font Parameters
and Line Length in MS Word
·
PDF Support
·
Multicolumn WYSIWYG Editort
The new version of FineReader features a new built-in editor, which is
even more user-friendly and useful as it displays the full layout:
columns, tables and pictures are displayed exactly where they are on
the source image.
Printing of Source Image and Recognized Text
Integration with Windows Explorer
Customizable Toolbars
New Professional Features
·
Changing page numbers in the batch window.
·
Setting compression rate when saving JPEG pictures in HTML and PDF.
·
Setting picture resolution when saving in RTF, PDF and HTML.

lists on the source image and saves them as MS Word lists in DOC and
RTF formats.
·
Saving recognized documents under the names of their source images. The
new FineReader allows you to load several images (including multipage
ones) to a batch, to recognize them and save the recognized documents
using the names of the corresponding source images.
